Johan Ooms studied business administration at the Free University of Amsterdam. In 1997 he began his career at NPM Capital, one of the leading private equity companies in the Netherlands. He was involved in numerous transactions both on the investment and exit side in different capacities. As an investment manager he was responsible for a number of successful exits including Keesing Media Group (sold to TMG in 2006) and United Broadcast Facilities (sold to Allianz Capital Partners). Johan was also involved in the successful turnaround of Swets & Zeitlinger and several shareholder-restructuring cases including ANP and Buyitdirect.com. He held several positions at Telegraaf Media Group including M&A director. Between 2007 and 2014 Johan was involved in numerous transactions and participated in the buy-and-build strategy of Keesing Media Group. In 2013 and 2014 he was also project manager for a number of reorganizations at TMG.
