Tim Knapton was co-founder and chief executive officer of ECM Limited. Prior to this, Mr. Knapton supplied consultancy research and investment banking services to many broking houses including D&D Tolhurst, County NatWest Australia, Burrows and Bell Securities before becoming joint head of Corporate Broking at Deutsche Australia, where he managed capital raising and acquisition transactions and produced specialised research.

Mr. Knapton holds a bachelor of science degree in economics. For many years, he has supplied financial research and commentary to publications such as The Australian Financial Review, Shares, Smart Investor, BRW and the Bulletin.
