Holiday greetings

2020 gave all of us at Clairfield the opportunity to realign our personal and professional objectives with those things that matter most to us: family, friends (and clients!), health, and life balance.

2021 will certainly bring new challenges, but we hope that you, like us, will not lose focus on the important things that help give our lives meaning.

Giving back to the community

In the spirit of the holidays, we would like to highlight the many charitable activities that Clairfield partners are proud to support.

The Johanniter run a prominent ambulance service, hospitals, specialist clinics, rehabilitation and therapeutic centers as well as day clinics in Germany with more than 400,000 patients each year.

Rotary is one of the world’s largest and most successful global membership and humanitarian service organizations, with 1.2 million members in over 200 countries. The Pope John XXIII Community Association runs family homes, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, therapeutic communities, and social cooperatives and shelters, in over 40 countries around the world. The members and volunteers of the Community carry out founder Father Oreste Benzi’s great project: to be the family of those who do not have one. Clairfield with partner Equita added a donation for every corporate gift basket purchased to provide a free meal to a needy family.

Clairfield Canada made a large donation to Pathways this year in lieu of hosting our annual reception – a timely donation to help low-income students who are disproportionately affected by COVID. Pathways to Education provides academic, financial, and social resources to Canadian youth from low-income communities to help them graduate from high school and break the cycle of poverty.

Clairfield Denmark provides ongoing support to Kræftens Bekæmpelse (Fight Against Cancer), Denmark’s largest cancer patient organization.

TUCCA provides essential treatment for low to middle-income children and young people with cancer at no cost for patients and their families. This charity is part of the International Network for Cancer Treatment & Research.

The charity works to remind these children and thousands of others living with disadvantages what it is like to be children and to just have fun by giving presents at Christmas and organizing fun days out throughout the year.

GiveDirectly  is an extremely effective NGO that gives cash directly to families in extreme poverty, especially those impacted by COVID-19.

Panim Lekehilla gathers food donated by families and businesses, and prepares and delivers the food to families in need. This Israeli organization also provides support for these families, through phone calls, physical visits, and emotional support.

Clairfield Australia sponsors a scholarship for the Queensland University of Technology –Law Founders Scholarship Fund, awarded on hardship. In addition to financial aid, the scholarship supplies textbooks, used computers, and other necessary tools, and liaises with faculty to ensure that the students are supported through difficult times.

Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organization, operating on a scale that makes it crucial to the work of front-line charities that are feeding vulnerable Australians. Foodbank provides more than 70% of the food rescued for food relief organizations across Australia.

The UQ Women’s Network UQWN is the University of Queensland’s first multi-disciplinary student society dedicated to the success of young women. Founded in late 2019, its aim is to build a community of highly motivated young women equipped with the skills, network, and confidence to succeed in male-dominated professional fields.
