Clairfield International has grown in the first half of 2017 with new partners and advisors on the senior level, adding to expertise in the technology, consumer, services, cleantech, and industrial sectors.
In the TMT sector, Thierry Pepin has joined as a partner and will be in charge of the Canada desk. Having advised over 50 small, medium and large companies in the telecom, internet, and digital media sectors in Canada, France, the UK, and the US as well as numerous fundraisings in Europe and North America in the TMT sector, Thierry is recognized as a strategic and financial advisor with thorough sector and operational expertise in technology.
The TMT team also welcomes Wolfgang Kroh, a senior advisor of Clairfield in the DACH region. Wolfgang recently held top management positions as CEO of Orga Systems GmbH (software system vendor) and in the corporate leadership team of Swedish group Erickson (a global telecom services provider), and as CEO of LHG AG (market leader in postpaid billing), which he took public on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. He is currently chairman of the Swedish group DigitalRoute and a member of the board of Carmeta. Wolfgang is based in Frankfurt and is an expert in payments and billing software as well as business services.
Another new senior advisor in Germany, Jörn Werner, is CEO of ATU, the German auto parts and services group. He has held CEO positions at leading German family companies, most recently at electronic parts distributor Conrad Electronic SE and Berner SE following other positions at Bosch and Buderus Heiztechnik. Jörn specializes in distribution & logistics as well as corporate digital transformation particularly in family businesses. He will bring his expertise to the consumer and industrials team.
The cleantech team welcomes additional expertise from new senior advisor Marcus Jentsch. Most recently Marcus was CFO of juwi AG, the leading international project developer for renewable energies in Germany where he led the successful restructuring and turnaround of the company. Marcus served as head of finance and investor relations at publicly-listed utility and service provider MVV Energie AG for 13 years. He began his career in investment banking at UBS and Lazard where he worked for more than a decade on crossborder M&A transactions, IPOs, and capital market deals, as well as international project financing. Marcus speaks frequently at industry conferences.
A new senior partner in Italy, Silverio Davoli, brings skills in crossborder transactions, particularly in the services sector, with over 25 years of experience at Cross Border, Translink, Akros, Republican National Bank of New York, and Merrill Lynch.
On the other side of the globe, Simon Douglas has joined the Australian office as a director where he specializes in advising midmarket companies through event-driven activity. In Mexico Gerardo Godard is a new managing director. Gerardo was previously at Invex, a public financial holding where he specialized in midmarket M&A and debt capital markets both inside and outside Mexico. Gerardo has private equity expertise in LatAm from his experience as co-founder of Kandeo Private Equity Fund.
Internally Clairfield is pleased to announce the promotion of Simon Lloydbottom to director. Simon joined Clairfield in Birmingham UK as an executive in 2011 and since then he has specialized in advising services and technology deals including the sales of Intercept, a leading UK cloud service provider with a focus on financial services and insurance, to Alternative; and Point to Point, a provider of workplace engineering services, to HCL Technologies (NSE: HCLTECH).
