Anne-Marie Birkill

Anne-Marie is an active participant in the innovation community, including acting on national and state university and government advisory boards and committees, and as a judge for a number of technology award programs. She actively champions for diversity in the science, technology, and finance sectors. Anne-Marie’s areas of expertise are technology and funds management.

Anne-Marie was appointed as a non-executive director of Clairfield Australia in 2021. She is a venture partner, director, and member of the Investment and Risk Management Committees for OneVentures.

Anne-Marie has over 30 years’ experience in investment, commercialisation and product development, during which time she has worked with hundreds of early-stage technology companies and entrepreneurs as director, senior executive, mentor and business coach. Her interest in the technology sector was forged during her 15 years in leadership roles in agri-business companies developing and commercialising new cultivars of ornamental, aquatic, food and forestry plants. Prior to co-founding OneVentures in 2010, she was CEO of i.lab Incubator Pty Ltd, having previously spent five years in the senior management team at UniQuest. During this period Anne-Marie developed successful programs and networks to assist technology commercialisation, start-up formation and growth, as well as capital raising and exit. She has experience of senior management and as a director for listed and unlisted companies.

Anne-Marie holds a degree in science ecology from Flinders University and an MBA from the University of Queensland. She is also a fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
