Luke Harwood

Luke leads Australia’s technology sector. His areas of expertise include enterprise SaaS, cyber security, data, and artificial intelligence; and infrastructure (utilities, telecommunications, renewables, and transport). He advises midmarket businesses on strategy, new business incubation, transaction execution, and post-merger integrations with deep domain expertise and knowledge of how things work “in the real world.”

Luke began his career at Macquarie Capital supporting infrastructure and asset-based transactions across Australia and the Middle East. Following his time in Abu Dhabi, Luke spent 13 years at Telstra, leading technology services and software acquisitions locally, in China and the USA. Soon after this, he stepped into leadership roles, overseeing Telstra’s early-stage ventures, cyber security, and innovation functions as well as leading its early-stage product incubations in AI.

Luke holds a bachelor’s degree in law and an honours bachelor’s of business management from the Queensland University of Technology. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
