Uniwater, a leading Northern European water infrastructure group, acquired WCI Group Ltd, a UK-based water and wastewater engineering specialist.
The parties
Uniwater is a European group of water and wastewater infrastructure specialists. It brings together individual companies that develop solutions across the water cycle, and it grows by acquisition. The group had built its position across Northern Europe and held no presence in the United Kingdom before this transaction.
WCI Group is a water and wastewater infrastructure engineering business founded in 1983 and headquartered in Somerset. It serves commercial and utility clients across England and Wales, with services spanning design and advisory, turnkey construction, ongoing maintenance, and natural capital solutions.
Uniwater acquired 100% of WCI Group. The parties did not disclose the transaction value.
Outcome
The acquisition marks Uniwater’s entry into the UK water infrastructure market and gives the group a platform for further growth there. WCI Group covers the water cycle in the way Uniwater builds its group, and it brings established commercial and utility relationships across England and Wales.
