Seyntex sold to Ceres Industries Capital

Seyntex, a leading European developer and manufacturer of advanced protective clothing and equipment for defence and public safety, was sold to Ceres Industries Capital.

Founded in 1908, Seyntex has evolved from its origins as a flax weaving mill into a globally recognized expert in high-tech textiles and protective gear, supplying a wide range of products including ballistic and CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) protective clothing, combat uniforms, backpacks, tents, and load-bearing systems to defence forces, police and emergency services worldwide. The company’s vertically integrated approach – from R&D and design to testing and manufacturing – has positioned Seyntex as a trusted partner for complex defence and safety contracts across Europe and beyond.

Ceres Industries Capital, founded in 2004, is a leading investment company managed by former CEOs and entrepreneurs, focused on European mid-sized companies in industrial and service sectors. To date, the firm has invested in more than 40 companies across 8 different countries, leveraging its team’s hands-on management experience to drive sustainable growth and value creation.

This strategic transaction marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth trajectory and underscores rising global demand for high-performance protective systems. The partnership with Ceres Industries Capital provides Seyntex with a strong long-term shareholder to support its next phase of growth. Together, they aim to further strengthen the company’s international position, invest in innovation and production capacity, and respond to the rising demand for advanced protective equipment in an increasingly complex geopolitical environment.

The transaction comes at a time of sustained growth in European defence spending, which has risen sharply since 2020, reaching record levels, with further increases expected as NATO allies raise targets following the 2025 NATO Summit in The Hague. After decades of underinvestment, demand for advanced protective systems continues to accelerate.

Ceres Industries Capital brings an industrial, hands-on approach and a clear ambition to build a pan-European, integrated defence supplier, well aligned with Seyntex’s capabilities and positioning.

“We are pleased to have supported the shareholders of Seyntex in finding the right partner for the future. Ceres Industries Capital brings the strategic focus and industrial mindset needed to support the company’s continued growth while preserving its strong DNA and operational excellence.”
