Mitsui & Co and Dainichiseika sold their joint stake in Plalloy to Kisco

Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and Dainichiseika Color & Chemicals Mfg. Co., Ltd., two international chemical companies, sold their joint stake in Plalloy MTD B.V. to Kisco Ltd., a global materials and chemicals group.

Plalloy MTD B.V., based in the Netherlands, is a leading provider of customized plastic compounds and color masterbatches for thermoplastics. The company supplies customers in the automotive, packaging, energy, construction, and household appliances sectors. With modern extrusion technology and strict quality standards, Plalloy delivers high-quality toll compounding services. The company ranks among the strongest performers in Europe, which is why many well-known customers outsource their entire production to Plalloy.

Kisco Ltd. operates globally in materials and chemical solutions. Through the acquisition, Kisco gains access to Plalloy’s compounding and coloration capabilities and expands its involvement in the plastics value chain.

For Mitsui and Dainichiseika, the transaction concludes a planned adjustment of their portfolio within the advanced materials segment.

In a dynamic, internationally oriented process, the project leads approached more than 100 targeted strategic and specialized financial investors. Over 30 investors expressed serious interest, particularly from Japan, where Plalloy’s European footprint held significant strategic relevance. Intensive discussions were conducted with roughly 12 investors, resulting in numerous indicative offers. In a competitive bidding process, Kisco ultimately prevailed as the ideal strategic partner, driven by strong economic synergies and a high degree of cultural compatibility.

Through the sale to Kisco, Clairfield secured a future-oriented investor for Plalloy, one that will support the company’s continued growth as a European quality leader in plastic compounding.

Saxenhammer, partner of Clairfield in Germany, acted as exclusive financial advisor to Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and Dainichiseika Color & Chemicals Mfg. Co., Ltd.
