Clairfield’s Q3 success: transactions and LSEG league table rankings across regions

Clairfield advised on a wide range of midmarket M&A transactions in Q3 2026. They span preschools in Poland, water infrastructure in the UK, and wealth management in Canada. Many involved international bidders or a crossborder counterparty. LSEG’s M&A league tables for the first nine months of 2026 reflect this activity. Clairfield ranks among the leading midmarket advisors in Eastern Europe, the Nordic region, Asia-Pacific, and South Africa.

Eastern Europe: top five ranking

Poland completed several crossborder deals. Clairfield advised preschool operator KIDS&Co on its sale to AcadeMedia, giving the Swedish education group its entry into the Polish market. The Polish team also advised language tutoring platform Fluentbe on its sale to Finnish learning group Sanoma, and Warsaw medical centre, CM Babka Medica, on joining PZU Zdrowie. In Romania, Clairfield advised EMSA Capital on the sale of window and door maker Aplast to Extruplast, creating a vertically integrated PVC group.

This activity shows in the rankings. LSEG’s midmarket tables for deals up to US $500 million place Clairfield fourth in Eastern Europe. Clairfield also ranks fourth in the region’s small cap table, which covers deals of up to US $50 million.

Western Europe and the Nordics: crossborder buyers and carve-outs

Uniwater acquired WCI
BizLink sold to Niryo

Clairfield’s UK team advised Swedish water infrastructure group Uniwater on its acquisition of WCI Group, a Somerset engineering firm. The acquisition gives Uniwater its first presence in the UK. Teams in France and Germany worked together on the sale of BizLink Group’s healthcare robotics division to French developer of collaborative robotic arms, Niryo. Clairfield also advised accessibility software provider IVES and its investor Impact Partners on the sale of IVES to Volaris Group.

Other deals in the region included PNS’s acquisition of a majority stake in Alpy.com, a European online ski rental marketplace. Clairfield also advised on the sale of Swiss bike sharing provider Publibike to VisionEdgeOne, and on the transfer of Belgian printer Artoos’ activities to Graphius Group.

In the Nordic region, the teams in Finland and Denmark lifted Clairfield to the top ten in the midmarket table.

Americas and Africa: continued momentum

Harbourfront acquired Cumberland
Landirenzo sold IMW to Ecofusion Energy holdings

In Canada, Clairfield advised Harbourfront Wealth Group on its acquisition of Cumberland Partners. The acquisition added around USD 5 billion in assets under administration. It is the fifth deal the Canadian team has closed for Harbourfront. The team also advised Richards Group on the acquisition of Zimed PF through its vision care business, Luvo Medical Technologies. Clairfield’s Italian and Canadian teams advised Landi Renzo on the sale of IMW Industries to EcoFusion Energy.

In Latin America, Clairfield holds a top ten position in the small cap table. Notable transactions include Clariens Educação’s acquisition of Universidade Vila Velha, where the Brazil team acted as exclusive advisor.

In South Africa, Clairfield advised premium food retailer in2food on its sale to Woolworths Foods. LSEG’s emerging markets tables, which rank advisors by deal value across all deal sizes, place Clairfield fourth for completed transactions in South Africa and fourth across sub-Saharan Africa.

Asia-Pacific

Clairfield’s Australian team climbed to 12th in the small cap table. Notable transactions include the sale of WGA (Wallbridge Gilbert Aztec) to AtkinsRéalis, the global engineering services and nuclear group, and TopBuild Corp’s sale of Bellis Australia to its managing director.

In Japan, partner firm Yamada Consulting Group ranks eighth in the midmarket table with 53 announced transactions, and joint fifth in the small cap table.

“The midmarket has asked a great deal of advisors this year, with buyers taking longer to commit and owners weighing their options with more care than in previous cycles. Against that backdrop, I am encouraged to see our partner firms closing transactions across so many regions and sectors, reflecting the value clients place on independent advice from people who know their market well and can connect them with buyers far beyond it.”

Alex Klemm, chair of Clairfield International.
