Commit Works sold to Datamine

Commit Works, a Brisbane-based software company serving the mining and metals industry, was sold to Datamine, a leading provider of mining operations planning and management technology.

The parties

Commit Works is a Brisbane-based software company serving the mining and metals industry. Its CiteOps platform digitises shift-level planning, resource allocation, task coordination, and production tracking, connecting the medium-term plan to what happens on shift across underground coal, open cut, underground hardrock, and smelter operations worldwide.

Datamine provides technology to plan and manage mining operations and ranked first in GlobalData’s 2025 Global Mine Site Survey. It operates in 20 countries and serves over 6,000 clients, covering exploration and resource modelling through to fleet management and sustainability.

Outcome

CiteOps sits between the medium-term plan and the shift, and Datamine covers everything upstream of that point. The combination gives Datamine coverage of the mining value chain end to end.

Clairfield’s role

Clairfield’s partner in Australia, InterFinancial, acted as exclusive sellside advisor to Commit Works. The team managed a diverse investor group through the process, coordinated due diligence, and negotiated commercial terms to reach a successful outcome for the Commit Works shareholders.

Lyle Bruce, Partner at RCF Innovation, an investor in Commit Works, said of the deal team:

“They demonstrated drive and commitment to get the deal done, juggling the disparate needs of the stakeholders whilst managing the project plan and keeping all parties communicating and informed.”
