Clariens Educação acquired Imepac Centro Universitário, a leading higher education institution based in Araguari, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Clariens is dedicated to delivering excellence in medical and scientific education and currently serves more than 3,800 medical students across four campuses located in Salvador (BA), Itumbiara (GO), Pouso Alegre (MG), and Eunápolis (BA). The company is controlled by Mubadala Capital, a global asset management firm and wholly owned subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, a sovereign investor based in Abu Dhabi.
With more than 50 years of history, Imepac is recognized as a reference in Brazilian higher education. The institution holds the highest score in the accreditation process of the Ministry of Education (MEC) and serves over 3,000 students. Its medical program also holds the maximum MEC rating, with 219 authorised seats and more than 1,000 enrolled students, and is supported by a newly inaugurated, state-of-the-art teaching hospital with 40 ICU beds, 19 operating rooms, and over 330 hospital beds.
