The Clairfield leadership series is geared towards CEO-level executives and provides Clairfield clients with an opportunity to attend presentations and participate in lively discussions on a range of topics of interest to business leaders. The events are co-hosted by international legal advisors CMS and business performance consultants Kloepfel. The November event was held in Hamburg at the exclusive Anglo German Club.
Kühne + Nagel is a global transport and logistics company with more than 1,300 offices in over 100 countries, and over 74,000 employees. Its strong market position lies in the seafreight, airfreight, contract logistics, and overland businesses, with a clear focus on IT-based integrated logistics solutions. Karl Gernandt is vice chairman of Kuehne + Nagel International AG, executive chairman of Kuehne Holding, board member of the Klaus-Michael Kuehne Foundation in Hamburg, and a member of the board of trustees of the Kuehne Foundation, Switzerland. In his introductory remarks and the lively discussions that followed, Karl Gernandt demonstrated his expertise in the sector. Catering for the increasing demands of global consumers particularly in growing metropolitan areas in Asia, the prevalence of truly global products such as the i-phone, and mass volume, disruptive consumer initiatives by global clients, create challenges for logistics services providers which Kühne + Nagel meets very successfully. “Karl Gernandt holds a fascinating leadership position in the global logistics and transportation industry. He has profound experience in creating value in the crossover of overland/rail, air and sea transportation. We were very pleased and privileged to have him join Clairfield clients in yet another memorable and rewarding event in our leadership series,” says Alexander Klemm, executive chairman of Clairfield International.
