Protech entered into a strategic equity partnership with Proman

Protech, one of Australia’s most successful staffing companies, entered into a strategic equity partnership with Proman, a privately held French company with a significant global footprint in most major markets.

Protech

Founded in 2006, Protech is a privately owned Australian company specialising in technical and professional workforce acquisition and management. It places skilled, semi-skilled, trades and professional personnel across 25 offices in Australia, delivering workforce solutions to enterprise clients.

Proman

Proman is an independent, family-owned French company led by Roland Gomez, with revenues of EUR 4.6bn in 2025. Operating in 18 countries, it employs over 6,500 staff and deploys more than 110,000 temporary workers. It ranks as the 10th largest staffing provider globally.

Deal context

Australia is one of the world’s largest labour hire and temporary staffing markets. The country offers a stable regulatory environment, with strong tailwinds in renewable energy and infrastructure construction. Both sectors sit at the core of Protech’s client base. For Proman, the investment represents a strategic entry into the Australian market.

Clairfield’s role

Clairfield acted as exclusive sellside advisor to Protech. The engagement began with exit readiness and pre-deal structuring work before moving into a formal sale process.

At that stage, Clairfield’s crossborder teams in Australia and France collaborated to design a deal structure suited to the transaction’s complexity. The team then ran a fast-paced diligence and negotiation process through to close.
